Here are a couple arguments you can help my family settle: canoeing vs backpacking? Bidet or no bidet? Stevia: natural wonder or inevitably ultimately revealed to be carcinogen someday? Kanye: tragic genius or simply an asshole? Gas, hybrid or electric only?

My dog insists on eating poop at the dog park. Is this an acceptable dietary supplement?

My taxi driver from CDG, an immigrant woman from Cameroon, praised Trump and LePen. And then asked my opinion. How, and perhaps more important, when, should I have responded? Factor in jet lag please. And traffic. And rain.

Does empathy help? Because I can definitely empathize. But I probably can't influence the price of bitcoin

DBT better with or without Shonna and Jason. I contemplate this often.I call it a draw.

But if Jason stays in the band, does that mean we don't get his solo albums? I think that gives the edge to "without"

Dear Geoff,

I’m at my wit’s end here! My son, the “Computer Whiz,” has finally graduated after what felt like an eternity of ramen noodles and late-night coding sessions. But lo and behold, he’s now a couch ornament, with his degree in computer science collecting more dust than his social skills.

He’s applied to so many jobs that I’m starting to think his resume might just be a new form of digital art. Maybe it’s invisible to HR managers? Or perhaps it’s written in binary, and we just haven’t found the right decoder yet.

I’ve suggested he try some networking, but I think he misunderstood me. He just upgraded our Wi-Fi and added more blinking machines around the house. When I mentioned “LinkedIn,” he asked if that was a new kind of data cable.

So, dear Geoff, any advice on how to launch my homegrown tech guru into the orbit of employment? Or at least off the couch?

Sincerely, A Mom on the Edge (of buying more ramen)

Two things. Can you find my keys? And is the primary contributor to the end of democracy our inability to free ourselves from a constricting two-party system? But first, keys. I gotta book.

Fun fact: countries with a presidential system (as opposed to a parliamentary one) have a strong tendency to become polarized, then gridlocked, then the gridlock eventually gives way to a dictatorship. This has happened over and over again in Latin America. The US has managed to avoid it largely because our political parties used to be ideologically mixed, with blocs of both conservative Dems and liberal Reps. Now that they’ve re-sorted themselves along traditional left-right ideological lines, we’re polarized, gridlocked, and…probably in for some rough sledding, democracy-wise. I have no idea where your keys are. But are you sure you’re ok to drive?

How do you get parents to work with their children at home to develop preschool skills? At this point I found it being time and lack of education. What would your suggestions be?

Interesting question, Jenel! Am currently working on a related one about toddler educational development. Let me know if that one doesn’t cover the same bases
